Is Your Textured Ceiling Worth Repairing?
The majority of homes built in the 60's. 70's, 80's and 90's have textured ceilings of one kind or another. Some are good quality and attractive, some are downright ugly. With new sheet rock in place, you can have a brand new ceiling with smooth finish or replace the popcorn ceiling with new material. For the best look and longevity for your ceiling, make sure to remove any loose material and use the best products for repair or replacing the popcorn ceiling. Repair the sheet rock under the texture, before spraying new texture or popcorn ceiling patch on. When you have a nice uniform textured ceiling, prime and paint it with good quality paint so it stays cleaner and is less prone to damage. There are different textures to choose from and some look more stylish then others, so choose an attractive one. The spray textures with smaller grain will look the best. |
